Watershed Protection

In addition to our wild pollinator fields, we also maintain approximately 6 acres of protected watershed at our main location.

We have made a few improvements since moving into our new facility in 2019. The biggest ones are:
  • Creating a low and no-mow barrier between all hard surfaces and the waterway.
  • Incorporating wild-pollinator areas into the borders of the protected watershed.
  • Creating a series of low-impact observation paths so that we can monitor the area.
  • Documenting our improvements so that other facilities can use our experience to reduce their impact on the land.
  • Working with the town to support their installation of a new storm water runoff area.

Also of interest is our work to reduce the volume and impact of our wastewater overall.
